President-elect Donald Trump said at a conference for young conservatives in Arizona on December 22, as he pledged to end “transgender madness” on his first day in office.

“I will sign executive orders to end child genital mutilation, get transgender people out of our military, out of our elementary schools, out of our middle schools, out of our high schools,” Trump said.

Speaking at the AmericaFest conference in a border state he won in November, Trump continued to pledge immediate action against criminal migrants, designating drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. He emphasized restoring US control of the Panama Canal.

In his speech on December 22, Mr. Trump made broad promises for his second term. He painted a dark picture of the previous four years under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

“On January 20, 2025, the United States will forever turn the page on four long and terrible years of failure, incompetence, and national decline. And we will usher in a new era of peace, prosperity, and national greatness,” Mr. Trump said of his inauguration.
