Qualifiers for all 2025 Signature Events, THE PLAYERS and majors

Setting aside outcomes as a qualifier, there probably was a moment – and perhaps an extended version thereof – when Nick Taylor’s thrilling playoff victory at the WM Phoenix Open slotted second among his impactful experiences of 2024. For it was notable that the native of Canada failed to qualify for the Presidents Cup in his homeland, particularly since the country still was buzzing to some degree over his even more fanatical performance at the 2023 RBC Canadian Open that he walked off with victory on a lengthy birdie conversion, also in a playoff.

The pages of the calendar turn for a reason, and Taylor has moved onward. And upward.

The 36-year-old from the Great White North took down yet another title in a playoff, this time in the decidedly tropical climes of the Sony Open in Hawaii. His exquisite up-and-in for birdie from 46 yards at Waialae Country Club secured the victory over Nico Echavarria on the second hole in overtime. In sum, that’s one playoff win in each of the last three seasons, and this one is only two stops old.
Both playoff participants finished inside the Aon Next 10 at the conclusion of the FedExCup Fall, so they were locks for the first three Signature Events of 2025. Taylor now adds the final five to his schedule.

Taylor also is returning to the Masters for a third appearance. And he’s officially in the PGA Championship for a fifth time, although he was on a trajectory to qualify via his Official World Golf Ranking (73rd), anyway, but he’s zoomed all the way to 29th on the shoulders of this fifth PGA TOUR title.

In addition to The American Express this week, the Latin America Amateur Championship will be contested concurrently. The 10th edition of the tournament will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Its champion will earn exemptions into this year’s edition of the Masters, the U.S. Open and The Open Championship, all for which he must remain an amateur to compete via the victory.

NOTE: Until all methods of entry are released by the governing bodies, traditional criteria are used to determine qualifiers. Refer to remaining qualifying criteria at the bottom of the page for details.
