Joaquin Niemann fired a final round 63 to claim a one shot victory at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, as Crushers GC secured yet another team title
Joaquin Niemann fired a stunning eight-under-par final round 63 to secure a fourth LIV Golf League title of 2025 and a sixth in total at LIV Golf Virginia.
The Chilean produced eight birdies and 10 pars around Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in a weather-delayed final round that included a near three hours of stoppages.
Niemann, who leads the LIV Golf individual standings, was never really ahead until the final moments, as Anirban Lahiri, Bryson DeChambeau and Graeme McDowell battled it out for the victory.
However, following the second weather delay, Niemann came out all guns blazing, with four straight birdies at the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th putting him one shot clear playing the last.
Although he missed the birdie putt at the 18th, the 26-year-old’s 15-under total was enough to give him a one stroke victory over McDowell and Lahiri, who both registered their best finishes on the circuit.
Along with Niemann, there were also stand-out performances from Thomas Pieters, DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson, who finished in a share of fourth spot at 13-under.
Jon Rahm, who finished alongside Martin Kaymer at 10-under, kept his impressive top 10 record going on the LIV Golf League, as the Spaniard takes some good momentum going into Oakmont and the US Open next week.
